President & Principal Consultant

Scott Young is the President and Principal Consultant at Highpoint CFO. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) with over 20 years of executive finance and corporate accounting experience driving growth at industry-leading companies.

He began his career in public accounting as an auditor with the Big Four firm Ernst & Young (EY). Following his time in public accounting, Scott partnered with mid-sized and large enterprise organizations to lead financial restructuring, navigate market shifts, and prepare for high-value transitions, including:

  • The Moorings (TUI Group): Steered the financial transition from a family-owned business to meeting the rigorous reporting demands of private equity ownership.

  • Marriott Vacation Club: Managed financial scaling following the acquisition of a privately-owned timeshare company, successfully driving revenues to over $750 million.

  • Ryland Homes (now Lennar): Navigated hyper-growth phases in the competitive homebuilding market and executed strategic financial adjustments during market corrections.

  • Jagged Peak: Orchestrated a comprehensive corporate reorganization to successfully prepare the company for its ultimate sale to an institutional investor.

Our forum spotlights key deals in M&A, private equity, and debt, honoring the professionals who fuel economic growth. We provide a unique platform for dealmakers to connect, with presentations from both industry experts and the next generation of finance talent from the University of Tampa.

Board Chairperson: Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind and Low Vision

The Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision provides comprehensive on-site rehabilitation programs for persons who are blind or visually impaired at two locations in Florida. On-site services are provided in Tampa and in Winter Haven for persons residing in Hillsborough, Polk, and Hardee counties.

Our training programs are designed to help individuals who have recently lost part or all of their vision to gain the skills needed to perform daily living tasks independently and maintain their employment. Rehabilitation Engineering services are provided Statewide by Lighthouse Assistive Technology Specialists to help blind or visually impaired individuals maintain their employment through assistive technology and devices.
